Jonathan Saunders, a Scottish designer whose designs have had a crucial impact on today’s modern fashion, resigned from his own label on the 8th December of 2015.
After graduating from the Central Saint Martins College, he made a graduation show so great that Alexander McQueen, the one and only fashion legend, noticed him and thanks to that Saunders got the chance to design prints for McQueen’s SS03 collection. Once that happened, Saunders was instantly catapulted into the fashion industry and quickly became a known name.
He made his debut collection at London Fashion Week the same year. After a distinctive period of time, he transferred his work to New York Fashion Week as it is more publicly acknowledged. His designs are always easily recognized; feminine, vivid and full of life.
He didn’t precisely comment on his resignation, the only thing we’re allowed to know that it’s due to ”personal reasons” and a decision described as ”not one he takes lightly”. It’s also not known what is next for the designer and what we ought to expect in the future, but we can be certain that such a great and still growing talent won’t just disappear from the face of earth.
